Elevate 920 is a group of individuals committed to making a difference in our community.
Local Members. Local Charities. Local Impact.
The concept is simple. Members commit to donating $100 per quarter. Prior to our quarterly meeting, our members have the chance to nominate their favorite local charities. From those nominations, we randomly choose 3 charities to present at the event. Each charity is given 5 minutes to tell their story and after all 3 have spoken, our members vote. The charity with the most votes takes home that quarter’s donation.
Now a $100 donation might not seem like a lot, but think about the impact when you combine 100 of those donations. Suddenly a $100 donation quickly becomes $10,000. $10,000 becomes $20,000. $20,000 becomes $30,000 and so on.
The size of our impact is only limited by the number of members that join us.
The impact on our community isn’t limited to the donation we make. Consider this:
While the two charities that aren’t selected don’t go home with a monetary donation, they go home with something even more valuable. They leave with increased awareness around their cause. Where else can that charitable co-founder stand in a room filled with people who have already raised their hand and said they are willing to donate to a local charity?
There is nothing preventing our members from supporting these charities on their own.
Second, we all like to do business with people like us. People who care about the community and want to do everything they can to leave it better than they found it. Every event is another opportunity to meet fellow members who care about the same things you do.
Looking for a plumber to fix a clogged drain? Or maybe you need a home inspection done. Don’t pick a name out of the phone book. Instead scroll through the list of Elevate 920 members. Why not support those business owners who actively invest in our community.
There are no strict requirements to joining this group. You don’t need to be a business owner, you don’t need to be a certain age. Our membership is diverse. White collar, blue collar, no collar. And we have members of all ages. But we all have one thing in common. We are all here to make an impact in our community.
If you want to help us make an impact in our community, click the button below for more details on how to join.
There is NO commitment. Sign up today and attend your first event. If it doesn't meet your expectations, you are free to cancel your membership, no questions asked.
Do I have to register a credit card?
Yes, our quarterly payments are collected by a 501(c)3 called The Giving Group. They handle collecting the money from our members and making the donation to the charity. They also handle providing receipts to all members.
Can I bring a guest with me to the event?
Absolutely! If you want to bring a friend, co-worker or spouse along with you, please do. The only way we spread the word about what we are doing here is to let new people in. Of course only Elevate 920 members get to submit a vote, but the more people in attendance, the better.
Do my spouse and I need to both sign up?
You can join together or individually. Remember though, only members get to vote so if you join together, you have to share the vote as well.
If I’m not able to attend the event, can I still donate?
Yes, we partner with The Giving Group to collect payments so all members have a credit card on file with them. They will deduct your donation prior to the event and make sure it is given to the charity that is selected.
Can my kids come along to the event?
Yes, as a matter of fact, we prefer it. What better way to show our future generations how to make an impact in our community than to get them involved in the process.
How do you select the charities that get to present?
Each Elevate 920 member can nominate 3 charities per quarter. From those nominations, we select 3 charities at random. We contact the selected charities before the event to confirm and help prepare them for the presentation.
Can a charity that presents be re-nominated?
They can, but with a few limitations. A charity that is selected for a quarterly donation is ineligible to present again for 6 events. A charity that presents but isn’t selected is ineligible to present again for 2 events.
Is my donation tax deductible?
Yes, all presenting charities must be a registered 501(c)3. The Giving Group, the group that collects our quarterly donations is also a 501(c)3. They are the ones that will provide you with a receipt for tax reporting purposes.
How much of my quarterly donation goes to the charity?
All of it. As the founder of this group, I am covering any administrative costs associated with the events to ensure that 100% of the donations go directly to the charity.
How can I help to make a bigger impact?
The beauty of this group is that our impact is only limited by the size of our membership. If you enjoy being a part of this group, I would encourage you to invite your friends and family to join you. Each additional member is another $400 per year invested right back in our local community.
